Welcome to the Department of Social Work !The department is aimed at creating excellent Social Work Professionals with the competency in multi disciplinary approach and ready for employment at national and international levels. The curriculum consists of theoretical inputs, observation visits, concurrent field work placements, minor project and block placement. In addition to the above special emphasis is given for experiential learning. The department over the years has earned the reputation for its MSW programme under Mahatma Gandhi University. The Dept. of Social Work aims at demonstrating the relevance of social work interventions in dealing with social issues and problems. It also has the duty of strengthening its theoretical foundations. At present the MSW programme is offered with three specialisations namely:
a) Medical and Psychiatric Social Work
b) Family and Child Welfare
c) Community Development.
Our department has commenced an academic initiative this year offering the three year UG Programme Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) .
