Welcome to the Department of Social Work! Our department is dedicated to developing outstanding Social Work Professionals with strong competencies in a multidisciplinary approach, preparing them for employment at both national and international levels. The curriculum includes theoretical instruction, observation visits, ongoing fieldwork placements, minor projects, and block placements. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on experiential learning.
Over the years, our department has built a solid reputation for its MSW program under Mahatma Gandhi University. We aim to showcase the importance of social work interventions in addressing social issues and challenges while also reinforcing our theoretical foundations. Currently, the MSW program offers three specialisations:
a) Medical and Psychiatric Social Work
b) Family and Child Welfare
c) Community Development
We also offer a three-year Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program, which includes comprehensive theoretical training and extensive fieldwork placements.
